Seeking Submissions

Colgate’s Bicentennial provides us with a unique moment to both reflect upon the history of our institution, and to look forward. In 2119, at the dawn of Colgate's fourth century of existence, none of us who make up the current community will be around for the celebration.

Therefore, we are calling on members of the Class of 2019 to submit their stories, hopes for Colgate's future, and creative contributions to carry the voice of this great Bicentennial class into the future.

Many Voices, One Book

Submissions received from the Class of 2019 will be compiled in a book that will help to shape Colgate’s future.

A copy of this book will be placed in the new dorm on the residential quad that will be completed in the fall of 2019. Another copy will be presented to President Brian W. Casey at our Baccalaureate Service as a guiding document for the institution. In a similar vein, copies of the book will also be presented to Chair of the Board of the Trustees Michael J. Herling ’79, P’08,’09,’12, and to Dean of the College Paul J. McLoughlin III.

Students’ original submissions will be housed in the Colgate Archives, and held for 50 years before public access is granted.
